Acupuncture, or zhenjiu, as it is called in Chinese, is an ancient form of needle therapy which is gaining more and more popularity in the Western world for the treatment of acute and chronic pain. During a treatment, very thin, solid, hairlike needles are inserted at specific points on the body. In Chinese these points are called “neural nodes” (jie) and the stimulation of these nodes affects both the central and peripheral nervous systems. It triggers the release of the body’s internal chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins, which have pain-relieving properties. If you have pain that is lingering or is not being treated by other modalities, then acupuncture offers a time-tested, very reliable method of pain relief.

I feel blessed to have the knowledge to practice medicine at its roots to help people on their path to healing and wellness. My training and experience have led me to this place, where I can help alleviate pain, both physical and emotional. Through acupuncture, various types of massage, and other therapies, I can help lessen the pain of injuries and emotional weights. I provide a gentle, safe, and relaxing experience, without judgment. My practice is in a quiet brick building — a warm and nurturing place for relaxation and healing. My professional career began in 2005 with graduation from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy. In fall of 2011 I completed my studies toward a BSNE and MSOM at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. I was most recently part of the alternative health program at a major health care provider. I have a professional and personal interest in providing relief from stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional disorders, as well as in pain management, sports medicine, women’s health, diet, and nutritional therapy. My practice is comprehensive, using a variety of modalities, customizing each session to envelop each patient in a calm centered state. I am passionate about healing the body, mind, and spirit, and care deeply about my patients and their path to wellness.
